I Will Bat For Your Kids In WNC Say’s Rod Honeycutt and Pledges Family Support
Family support for the children of WNC is at the forefront of Rod’s mind. This past weekend was a milestone achievement in the ‘Boots on The Ground’ camp. Rod Honeycutt was invited, and given the honor of throwing the first pitch of the little league baseball season. A timely break from campaign issues. Time to be with the children, and to share in their excitement as the new baseball season begins for children all over Western North Carolina.
Since the beginning of the Boots on the ground campaign for NC11; Rod has travelled around all 15 counties. He met with the leaders, businesses and families of each county to listen to them and to hear what it is they need in a congressman.
Challenges In Each County Tackled
Every county has its own challenges, and many of the people within these counties feel lost, forgotten or had enough of the struggle. As the world looks dark, dangerous, and on a tipping scale. Rod is looking to the future with the kids of the future in the forefront of his mind. It has always been Rod’s intent to find out what the folks required from the ground up. That meant getting boots on the ground just as he did when he was commanding thousands of men in his military service. Getting on first base with the kid’s was an honor, and a privilege to witness just what good leadership could bring to Western North Carolina.

However, what has left an indelible impression on Rod, was the interaction with the children. They were brought together in sportsmanship to demonstrate what it means to be a team player and how to work together. Camaraderie; just like his days in the Military serving this great nation, expressed at the beginning of the little league baseball season. A stark reminder of what Rod is fighting for now. As a father and husband; Rod is uniquely placed to understand what families need. He understands that family support is required for our future generations in Western North Carolina.
The Future Of WNC Are The Children
These kids are our future. This thought was expressed by Colonel Rod Honeycutt as he pitched the ball to the waiting batsman. It’s a strike, and everyone applauds. The first pitch of the season signaled not only the ensuing games, but the togetherness of the children. The power of families coming together in a community, and not just sportsmanship. Just for that moment, every negative thing in the world seems like a distant memory. The children are our future and Rod is here to bat for your children. He pledges to ensure that all children of Western North Carolina grow up in a peaceful and vibrant community that brings forth our new leaders that will forge the great America of the future.
