Slava Ukraini: A country, a culture, and a people with a rich history. Ukraine is one of the largest countries in Europe, and thus it has many delightful things to offer. Its cultural heritage is majestic and ancient. It exudes the richness and diversity of the local cuisine and the uniqueness of Ukrainian traditions and customs.

Ukraine Architecture

Many of Ukraine's large cities are amongst the world's most breathtaking and intricate architecture. This includes old castles, cathedrals, and 3 humongous complexes called larva: Kyiv Pechersk Larva, Pochayiv Larve, and Sviatohrisk Larva.

In addition, there are dozens of old-style buildings, miles of old cobbled streets, and hundreds of historically important monuments.

Natural Ukraine

Now, these are all amazing man-made structures, however, there are a plethora of natural wonders in Ukraine.

To name a few, we have the Dniester Canyon which is a masterpiece of nature. Mountains surrounding a river form a winding canyon. The Granite-steppe lands of Buh. There are 98 archaeological sites here that date as far back as the Palaeolithic era (2.7 million years ago).

Finally, we have Lake Svitiaz. This is the largest and deepest Lake in Ukraine. It boasts lots of little cottages and a dense pine forest, making it one of the most picturesque locations in the world.

This is only three of Ukraine's many beautiful landscapes and locations, yet many more exist and hopefully will continue to exist. Slava Ukraine.

Not only does Ukraine have natural and man-made beauty. It's been said that it has some of the kindest down-to-earth welcoming people in the world. These people are also renowned for making some delicious food. Dishes like the classic chicken Kyiv (its in the name), potato pancakes, which can be served as breakfast or dinner, and Vareniki which is a dumpling that can be filled with cabbage, mushrooms, and cheese, cherries, and much more. Last but not least we have stuffed cabbage rolls (holubtsi) which take hours to prepare.

Ukraine is a fantastic country. There is no denying that in the past few months there have been some horrific conflicts between itself and Russia.

Russia Invades Ukraine

Vladimir Putin (Russian president) has launched a brutal attack, murdering and butchering thousands of innocent Ukrainian women and children. Inclusive of flattening cities, and trying to overthrow the Ukrainian government. Essentially bringing the country to its knees. The invasion of Ukraine by Russia has resulted in a rapid-fire refugee catastrophe, unprecedented sanctions against a major economy, and a reshaping of global alliances – including unifying NATO.

Thousands of lives have already been lost. Millions of livelihoods have been impacted as a result of displacement, homelessness, and economic loss. We, like so many others, are astounded by the humanitarian disaster unfolding and the effects of this barbaric conflict.

The environmental impact of the crisis is expected to take some time to be realized. Regardless, environmental impact is evident. What needs to be determined is the extent to which environmental implications will be observed, and how they will be addressed. According to experts, the Russia-Ukraine conflict could have a long-term impact on future climate policies.

Slava Ukraini

The strong, brave, and determined Ukrainians have shown that they can fight and defend their land with their lives. A now world-famous saying "Slava Ukraini" which translates to "Glory to Ukraine" has been a key factor in keeping the people positive and sticking together and fighting for their country.

This saying has helped Ukraine destroy nearly 20% of the Russian armed forces, destroying tanks, planes, helicopters, and more. Ukraine were considered the underdogs in this fight, but its not the size of the fighter but the size of the fight in the people.

Slava Ukraini

So far Ukraine has managed to successfully defend against the attacks of Russia. However, at a heavy cost with many thousands of deaths, and cities that were once thriving now flattened to the ground. Ukraine will rise again like the pheonix.
