Why do 86% of Russians support Putin’s war in Ukraine?

Many people today are concerned about morality and morals, even simple humanity when it comes to Russia and the Russian people.
The civilized world is shocked by the aggressive statements and criminal actions of the Russians in Ukraine. They behave like soulless terrorists, like real war criminals, and lie to the whole world about some invented problems that they are supposedly solving in Ukraine.
To someone who did not know the beginning of this story, it may seem utterly pointless and self-defeating. But we did manage to find something out.
What should you know about Russian television?
First of all, you should accept the idea that today's Russians live in their own imaginary world, in their own special reality, fully understood only by themselves.
How is it that a country, which for many years carried the banner of spirituality and the highest morality, has now descended into outright genocide against its closest neighbors?
In Russia, it is customary to believe in television. Only the government or pro-government television. Because all other viewpoints, in their opinion, are imposed by Russia's external enemies, chief among them the United States. If this is a news site, only pro-government sites are licensed to tell the truth. All others are subject to rigorous censorship. Any opinion about anything is false and hostile unless it is from Russia and approved by the authorities.
Yes, it's an Orwellian dystopia realized these days. War is peace, freedom is slavery, and ignorance is power. Power is not the means; it is the end. This has gradually and imperceptibly become the norm for them since their current president came to power. You don't need a brain anymore if you have a TV.
So what does official Russian television say about Ukraine?
False Claims That Gave The Russians A Reason For War In Ukraine
Before the invasion, they claimed that:
- Ukraine is occupied by NATO, and regularly filmed staged clips for their propaganda;
- there are secret chemical and biological weapons being produced everywhere for Ukraine's impending attack on Russia;
- it was NATO soldiers who fought against the Russian "liberation army" in eastern Ukraine;
- civilians are being held hostage by the Kyiv authorities, and are begging Russian soldiers to release them from the captivity of the Kyiv Nazi authorities.
It should be understood that Russians perceive NATO solely as an enemy seeking to invade or destroy their state. This is their unspoken, almost official position.
More Lies
They believed that the vast majority of Ukrainians supported Russia and would greet them with music and flowers. After the invasion, however, they faced a stiff and total Ukrainian backlash – everywhere they stepped. Even unarmed men sometimes got into fights with the armed Russian "liberators," so they had to shoot in the air to stop them.
From the first days of the invasion, there was such an influx of volunteers among the Ukrainians. The problem was – that there were simply not enough guns for everyone who wanted to fight. There were six volunteers for one rifle. The lack of weapons in Ukraine is acutely felt even now. More weapons and support are still needed.
More Propaganda
Faced with the new reality, Russian propaganda has reformulated its claims to Ukraine. Previously, they called only the official Ukrainian authorities Nazis. Now they consider every Ukrainian who does not support their war of aggression, especially if he speaks Ukrainian, to be a Nazi.
Therefore, we must now make a short digression. The word "Nazism" in Russia is officially applied to all neighboring sovereign states of the former Soviet Union that oppose Russia's policy of invasion. Moreover, they do not want to become part of the new Soviet Union. They easily change the meaning of the word in order to introduce it into everyday usage in a new quality and influence the masses with this new language, new meanings.
Just watch their political talk shows or news bulletins for a few days, and you too will want to "liberate" Ukraine from the Ukrainians, Lithuania from the Lithuanians, Poland from the Poles, etc. The Kremlin neurolinguistic has been perfecting and implementing their mass control technology for years. Even Ukrainians who fell under Russian occupation in 2014 stopped perceiving reality objectively. After spending a long time in the Russian information field, many of them still have to prove for a long time that white is white and black is black, and not the other way around, as they were taught by TV.
What should you know about today's Russia?
Those few Russians who are still able to analyze and think critically, occasionally conduct polls of their fellow citizens in the streets. They publish these records in their private forums, risking their freedom and sometimes their lives. It is often shocking to realize how far a person can go in his hatred and inhumanity.
The answers to the question of why Russians support genocide in a neighboring country are very curious:
- Ukraine was going to attack us (in fact, Russia has been attacking Ukraine continuously since 2014 and has seized part of its territory)
- There is no such country as Ukraine. This is our land, and we don't need Ukrainians there. We will put things in order there ourselves, and we will live there in our own way (they are ready to destroy the population of Ukraine in order to take possession of its territory);
- The Ukrainians are traitors who have sold out to the West (the Russians are convinced that Ukraine has no right to its own way, but is only a Russian colony);
- I hate Ukrainians because they kill our soldiers (who are rampaging in Ukraine).
Are these real reasons to go to war in Ukraine?
Influences
Obviously, these people broadcast the ideas they have been indoctrinated with propaganda for years: news channels, talk shows, influencers of all kinds, Russian cinema, pseudo-historians, cultural figures, and public ideologues. And even the church, with its silence, continues to encourage aggression.
Therefore, the world must realize that Ukraine right now is fighting a collective psychopath (Putin) who will not shy away from any criminal means to achieve his goal.
And even after this collective psychopath is defeated in the current conflict, it will not abandon its invasive plans. A new war will begin in a few years, just after he has recovered. As a consequence, until there is a change of power system in Russia, the democratic world is in the Kremlin's crosshairs.
